  This README file contains last-minute product information for ADRIFT v4.00
  for Microsoft Windows.

  For full instructions on using ADRIFT, please see the manual which can be
  found at www.adrift.org.uk/tutorial.  A downloadable version of this should

  o  x86-based personal computer (486 minimum, Pentium recommended)

  o  Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT4, ME, 2000 or XP

  o  8 Mb RAM (16 Mb recommended)

  o  7 Mb hard disk space, plus additional disk space for adventures

  o  Internet connection recommended

  o  Microsoft Media Player required for Sound

  ( Installation		)
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
  After extracting ADRIFT40.zip (which I assume you must have done to be
  reading this), run setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

  To uninstall, run uninstall.exe, then select Start > Settings > Control
  Panel > Add/Remove Programs > ADRIFT, and click on Remove.

  MSDXM.dll - Media Player control
  ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
  I cannot distribute this control with ADRIFT, so in order to have sound within
  your games, you must download and install Microsoft Media Player.  You should
  be able to get this from www.microsoft.com/mediaplayer.

  Memory Errors
  ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
  Because ADRIFT has now become quite a large program (particular for one written
  using Visual Basic), Windows 95, 98 and ME may struggle with system resources
  and you may get this error message.  Make sure you have checked File > Settings
  > Conserve Memory.

  ADRIFT Generator is Shareware.  ADRIFT Runner is Freeware.

  If you use ADRIFT Generator on a regular basis, you are strongly
  recommended to register it for US$18.95.  You can do this by visiting 
  www.adrift.org.uk/register.html.  

  Registering gives you the following benefits;

  o  Restrictions removed for saving adventures.

  o  Access to a "Members Only" Internet area and Forum

  o  The option to download an ADRIFT Developers Pack*.  This is a Visual 
     Basic add-on which allows you to create VB programs to communicate
     directly with Runner. (* Coming soon)

  o  Priority email support

  o  Free updates as and when they become available

  o  It will also clear your conscience, and give me inspiration to continue
     to develop ADRIFT into a better and more powerful tool.
